When & where:
We are so excited to be able to be a part of the biggest 4th of July parade in ND! We would love for as many people as possible to join us in helping get the word out about the Surprise Church mission and being the Surprise of God to a world in need. This is will be a guaranteed fun time so if you are interested in joining the fun text PARADE to 701-380-8210. Any Questions? Text or call Debbie at 701-390-8705.
STAY TUNED FOR EXACT DETAILS. Once we get our float number, we’ll post them here to let you know when and where to meet us.
To get to the staging area at Dacotah Centennial Park, you should enter Red Wing Drive from Memorial Highway in Mandan which becomes a one-way during parade staging.  Do not attempt to enter from 3rd Street.
This parade can be HOT, HOT, HOT! Please dress and plan accordingly. If you have a Surprise t-shirt, wear it to the parade. If you don’t, we will have some there so you can pick one up the day of the parade.
COOLERS: There will be a need for some large coolers to keep drinks cold. We will have water and snacks to drink and eat during the parade. If you feel fatigued, please take a break on the trailer or in the truck to refuel.
Driving & Parking:
> DON’T TRY TO DRIVE THROUGH MANDAN unless you have to, since they will likely have roads blocked off well before parade time.
> To get to the White Staging area at Dacotah Centennial Park,  enter Red Wing Drive from Memorial Highway in Mandan which becomes a one-way during parade staging.
What to wear:
> Wear your red, Surprise T-shirt!  If you don’t have one, we’ll have some available at the parade float. Wear red if you don’t have a shirt just in case we run out.
What will we do?
> We’ll play awesome tunes from our float while we greet onlookers warmly, give kids candy, and hand out flyers. Some parents will push strollers or pull wagons, and we’ll assign “runners” who will be in charge of refilling supplies.
> Our goal is to “go public” as a church that loves our city and is worth checking out. We want to hand out ton of flyers, so plan to be busy handing flyers out rather than just walking and waving!   We’ll assign a couple people to hand out candy to kids in order to maximize the number of people dispersing flyers!
Heat & Safety:
> Dress appropriately with hats and sunscreen, as temps are often high for this 3 mile parade.
>We’ll provide ice water as well as snacks. Bring any snacks/beverages that you wish to have available.
>You can take a break ANYTIME during the parade by sitting on our float or in the air conditioned truck. If you feel tired, light-headed, or just “off,” make sure to tell someone and take steps to rest, hydrate, and recover.
> It’s very important to be careful around the trailer. No one is allowed to climb over the side of the trailer or stand near the wheels, and you should wait to jump on the trailer until it is stopped. While the trailer is moving, those riding should be sitting safety.

Pray that God opens doors!

Many people have come to Surprise because they met us at events like this. So pray that God opens THOUSANDS of doors as we join together love and welcome our city!
